Making a Memorable Date Night In with Try the World
Between Squeaker and Sweet B, having time to go on a date can be difficult. Partially because of Sweet B’s needs and partially because Squeaker is still nursing. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t try to shake things up a bit now and then. One way we can do this is by having a date night in. Sure, there’s always the dinner and a movie option (or dinner and Walking Dead) but once in awhile, we like to be creative and do a theme. One way that we can do this is by using the tasty foods and recipe ideas from Try the World.
This month’s box features Venice and includes the following:
- 7 to 10 Italian delicacies curated by David Rosengarten
- A card describing each full size gourmet product
- A culture guide with music, movies, recipes and more
Try the World introduces a new box every two months, which is perfect for us because we’re still trying to figure out when we’ll use the contents of our box. Maybe on Tuesday (Mardi Gras) since it’s a carnival theme and Venice is also famous for it’s carnival. Venice is a city that I’ve had a long time obsession with. It’s on my to-do list to travel to there and hopefully, one day, I can make it happen. In the meantime, I can at least get a taste of Venice with Try the World.
The first couple of items in our box. Both look pretty tasty to me and I really can’t wait to try them in a meal or use the culture guide (that comes with recipes) to plan out this date night.
I’ll be perfectly honest- of these three items, the one we’re most interested in is the Sweet Onion Pesto. The truffles and mushrooms does sound very interesting and I do want to give those a try with something. The sardines, I think we’ll give to my mom or his mom. Kyle’s not a huge fan of seafood and I’m a picky person when it comes to seafood lately. I might give those a try anyway, because I haven’t had them in so long but we’ll see what we see.
My favorite part of the box- the gourmet treats. Of course this entire box is a gourmet treat, but the chocolate bar especially. Yummy. Although I’m not sure if I’ll be eating a lot of that or at least not all in one sitting. I was hoping for a hazelnut one but I definitely won’t say no to chocolate of any kind.
Along with the culture guide, we can use the items in our box in making a memorable date night in. While I’m not sure when we’ll get around to having said date night, I’m sure it will be memorable and delicious.
